One of the four art galleries that comprise the museum, the Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art at Altoona has temporary exhibits that rotate approximately every three months. Also held by this branch of the museum is a collection of photographs by William H. Rau, who worked in the early 1900s as the Pennsylvania Railroad's officially sanctioned photographer. Sitting just north of the railroad lines near the Railroaders Memorial Museum, this free art museum is perfect for a quick visit to see the works of some of the region's best artists.
